Preschool
Preschool Program (Ages 2-5 years)
Preschool is the beginning of many years of education. Our early childhood environment is designed to create an atmosphere that enables our children ages 2 years – 5 years to grow at their own pace. We believe that children learn through discovery, experimentation, and problem solving. Our learning activities encourage the development of self-confidence, language, and a positive self-image.
Each classroom environment consists primarily of learning centers. Each learning center will have a different learning experience relating to a specific unit, holiday or skill that the children are working on that week. Centers revolve around a variety of areas, including art, science, drama, literature, math, writing, music, and social studies. Some centers are ongoing the entire year, and others vary depending on the subject being introduced and the interests of the children.
We emphasize the role of the family and the celebration of our lives through the Jewish life cycle. Throughout the year, we have many family based activities, and we encourage parent involvement through parent education talks, classroom volunteering, Parent and Grandparent Days, and Jewish cultural and holiday celebrations.
Our Gesher (Hebrew word for bridge) Class is specially designed for five-year-olds who will be attending Kindergarten the following year. We believe that developmental readiness is crucial to future success in school. Acting as a bridge between preschool and kindergarten, Gesher provides our students with an environment to focus not only on academic skills but on the “whole child”.
The preschool is open Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Toilet training is not required.
