Hometown

Dear TEC Family,

I am so happy to inform you that Rabbi Ari Averbach has agreed to be the 5th Rabbi in TEC's nearly 60 years. Next summer, all of us will have multiple opportunities to welcome Rabbi Averbach, his wife Vanessa, and their children Paige and Shai as well as their new arrival this spring to our TEC family as he returns home to his roots in the Conejo Valley after the past four years at Congregation Beth Shalom in Northbrook, Illinois. I believe that under Rabbi Averbach's leadership, we can continue to transform TEC into a 21st century synagogue that appeals to the next generation of Jews here in Ventura County as well as respect the long standing members of our TEC community.

We look forward to having Rabbi Averbach bring his energy and enthusiasm along with new ideas that we can turn into programming both for current members and potential future congregants. We anticipate that Rabbi Averbach's use of social media, short videos and podcasts to engage each of you when you are out in the diaspora living your daily lives will bring a new twist to the many ways in which you can connect both with TEC and with your own personal Judaism.

Should you be at Shabbat morning services this coming Saturday, I want to invite you to our Kiddush Club during the Oneg where we can celebrate this milestone in our shared history with a L'Chaim!

Excitedly looking forward,

Jeffrey Solomon
