TEC Adult Education ... classes designed with you in mind …

Offering a wide array of learning opportunities, TEC Adult Education programming aims to enrich and expand your Jewish horizons and appeal to a wide range of learning styles, areas of interest, and varied schedules. Below is an overview of ongoing classes:

TEC Book Club
Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning (new CORE classes begin in September each year) Contact our local Melton director at [email protected]  to find out new class times and locations or visit www.meltonwestvalley.org to learn more about Melton learning for the “Wondering Jew."

Overview Classes:

Tuesdays with Rabbi (Rabbi Spiegel) - Tuesdays, from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. in the Cohen Library. Make Tuesday mornings your quality time. Join Rabbi Spiegel in weekly group study of traditional texts and discussion of their relevance to modern life.  New participants are welcome anytime in this informal, discussion based class.

 Adult B’nai Mitzvah (Rabbi Spiegel and Hazzan Duek) - Sunday mornings beginning December 4th from 9:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.. Studies included in this class: Hebrew reading, Prayer Skills, Torah Reading, Holidays & Festivals, Jewish Music and more. The TEC Adult B’nai Mitzvah class will celebrate their beautiful B’nai Mitzvah ceremony in Spring of 2018. For more info, please contact Seth at seth@templeetzchaim.org.

TEC Book Club - Generally, the book club meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7 P.M. in the Scherr Conference Room or as published. Since its inception in 2001, TEC Book Club is still going strong with avid readers and lively discussion. TEC Book Club is the place to be if your niche is reading and discussing some of the best-selling and best written books … primarily by Jewish authors or about Jewish themes. Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning: Core and Graduate Classes- University level curriculum courses, with no homework, no tests and no prep, created especially for adult learners from all backgrounds by the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. TEC is proud to host CORE classes and graduates of the two-year CORE program, Melton Scholars Courses. Melton classes are open to the community! Bereavement Support Group Open to the Community: Our Bereavement group will meet every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month.

Al-Anon meets every Wednesday at TEC, 7:00-8:15PM.

Refuah Shelamah Requests - Can't make it to shul for a friend or loved one in need of a prayer for healing?  Send in any name you would like read at services (Shabbat, minyan or other) and a dedicated Temple congregant will stand and read the name. Just email your request to refuah.[email protected] with the details of the individual in need of healing. It is that easy and simple!  Because No one should be without a voice.
