Relay For Life Of Thousand Oaks: May 16-17, 2015

Relay for Life jpgThe 2017 Relay For Life of Thousand Oaks will begin at May 20, 2015 at 10:00 AM in Conejo Creek Parkrelay

Every year TEC supports the Relay for Life, a walk for a great cause – the fight against cancer. The walk is a 24-hour experience from 10:00 AM Saturday until 10:00 AM Sunday May 21 – individuals can come anytime, for an hour or two, or for the whole day. We will be having a Havdallah service on Saturday evening, which is a beautiful event appreciated by members of the Temple and the greater community at the Relay for Life.

Walk the Walk.  You've been talking about being involved: this year actually come and do it!  Think about joining us for an your , the morning, the afternoon, or -- for the truly dedicated -- stay overnight.  Sign up for the Tzedakah Tztrollers, our Relay for Life Team, today!  For more information about the Relay for Life of Thousand Oaks, see the main website.

(Registration will be open later this spring.)

You can become involved in a number of ways:

Contact [email protected] about becoming a coordinator for this event. Although we’ve been involved in this for years, we are always looking for new leaders with the vision and enthusiasm to make this event more successful and more fulfilling. This would include strategies for communicating with the membership, identifying our goals as a team, and putting together a theme for our booth.

Become a leader of the TEC team and coordinate our fundraising efforts. Last year TEC was recognized as a Rising Star, which was a fantastic effort. In 2014, we aren’t resting on our laurels, but hope to get to the next “Club Level” and hopefully make it to Gold Level! But to do this, we need you to you to help reinvigorate the TEC Team, the Tzedakah Tztrollers.

Commemorative Luminarias

If you want to remember a loved one you’ve lost to cancer, or if you’d like to honor or support a cancer survivor, you can do so by purchasing a Luminaria bag. Luminaria bags line the course and are kindled in the eveining.

If you are a Cancer Survivor, there will be free meals for you at the Relay for Life, an opening lap honoring survivors, and a pre-event with a free lunch.

Join us for the Survivors Walk and Havdallah on Saturday night.
